Mr. Cruz joined the United States Army in 1995 and upon his return home in 1997 he was hired as a security monitor for a contracted facility for the Federal Bureau of Prison (BOP). Mr. Cruz continued to serve in the Active Ready Army Reserve from 1995-2004. In 2004 he was promoted to Facility Director and assigned to the Mid-Valley House Residential Re-Entry Center. He has worked with Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a Quality Control Service and Compliance Manager in which he oversaw compliance for PREA/ACA and National Detention Standards for all detention centers. CSG hired Mr. Cruz in 2016 as the Facility Administrator to operate a co-ed facility for Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
